Choose to sleep in a clean and hypoallergenic material<\/h2>\n

Humans have slept in wool since ancient times. Wool contains a natural fat called lanolin. Lanolin is a unique blend of natural waxes with an incredible ability to allow moisture and dirt to evaporate from the wool. In this way, the wool always remains dry and therefore free from bacteria, as bacteria in fibers prefer a moist environment.<\/p>\n

At Woolbed we recommend all dust-mite allergy sufferers to sleep in wool, as its dry environment is the only thing that helps in the fight against mites. Dust mites are microscopic spider-like creatures that live in our beds and are considered one of the most harmful pests for humans. This tiny pest causes most cases of asthma and allergies every year. Wool is the cleanest and most hypoallergenic material we can sleep in. Additional benefits are that wool regulates body temperature and improves blood circulation. When wool comes into contact with the skin, a small friction is created, called \u201cmicromassage\u201d, which triggers increased blood circulation.<\/p>\n

Merino lambswool comes from the merino lamb. The lambs are raised only for their wool and are shorn when they are 9\u201312 months old. At Woolbed we import only merino lambswool from New Zealand. The incredibly soft and silky cashmere comes from the cashmere goat. They live in extremely cold climates in Tibet, China, Pakistan and India. Cashmere is combed and sorted by hand as it is very delicate. Each goat provides around 120 grams of cashmere, which explains the high prices due to the very low yield.<\/p>\n

1.<\/span><\/strong> Shake and air out the wool bedding before use; if needed the product may be vacuumed.<\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/strong> Air the wool products when needed. Wool benefits from fresh and humid air; direct sunlight should be avoided. Hanging wool outside in humid weather naturally cleans and refreshes it and removes any unpleasant odors.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong><\/span> Wool can be washed at max 30\u00b0C or in cold water with diluted soft soap or wool shampoo. If stains occur, do not wash the entire product \u2013 only hand-wash the stained area.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong><\/span> Wool should not be soaked for long periods, twisted, or brushed. After washing, gently squeeze out excess water.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong><\/span> For well-used wool products, after several washes, new lanolin may be added; it can be purchased at pharmacies in spray form.<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong><\/span> If needed, after 5 years, bring the product in for a deep cleaning treatment for natural-hair products.<\/p>\n
